Patient and encouraging, I guide students step-by-step toward realizing their vocal potential. Many of my students are professional singers seeking advice on technique and interpretation, while others are enthusiastic amateurs with a passion to sing as a means of musical fulfillment and personal growth. While there has been a dramatic increase in the scientific understanding of the vocal mechanism within the last thirty years, this knowledge does not enable the voice student to sing.During your first lesson you will have an opportunity to experience my teaching style, and we will discuss your musical interests and goals. I will listen to you sing, assess your level of skill, and provide you with a plan to take your vocal technique and musicianship to the next level.

I have had many voice teachers. Daniel is the only one who has taught me how to sing beautifully with no strain or tension. He is an educator who freely teaches you not only the physical mechanics of your body, but how to feel them, how to be able to replicate the techniques where ever you sing and truly understand the feeling of singing as if you have no throat - effortlessly, beautifully, confidently, with joy and wonder because finally your body is truly united with that beautiful sound and you feel as if you can soar into the heavens. Daniel is a master voice teacher - studying with him has taught me so much not just about how to sing better, but also how to understand my body much better as an instrument, and how my voice's potential can be maximized pedagogically. He's not just a great voice teacher, but he is a great singer himself, as well as an expert vocal pedagogy historian and vocal scientist.
He is one of the few voice teachers I have met who can train people to sing well and to know exactly why they are singing well, to the point where they can teach others. Can't recommend him enough.

I became Daniel's student after years of studying Voice and performing regularly. I contacted him because I was aware that I'd developed bad habits over the years, resulting in a strained tone and limited range. As a shouting, bellowing preacher for 20 of my younger years, I hadn't been kind to my voice! What I needed, since I became a Musical Theater and Cabaret singer, was a keen diagnostician and a patient Bel Canto teacher to help me achieve a pure tone. Over the course of five months, my performance has been transformed. It's the voice that I was looking for.
