Studying a musical instrument takes great discipline, artistry, and care. When proper attention is paid, the benefits one experiences are endless. Playing violin provides the student with an instrument of self expression and stress release. Learning the instrument develops discipline and has been associated with increased performance in school. The results of practice and hard work provide the student with a sense of accomplishment and in turn boosts self confidence.



In violin lessons I am constantly balancing energy and focus; fun and discipline. My role as a teacher is to help the student navigate his/her way around the instrument. Accessing the many techniques possible requires a solid technical foundation. I like to reiterate this foundation through many technical studies. I teach solos that follow these techniques allowing room for creativity and musicality to foster in performable works. Parental involvement is necessary for student growth and I strongly encourage a regular practice routine. Each lesson has a weekly assignment due the following week.
