Before recently relocating to Saint Louis, Guitarist Matthew Von Doran was active in the Los Angeles music scene for over 30 years as a jazz & rock artist, sideman, session player, and educator. He has been involved throughout the world with numerous bands reflecting all styles and genres of music and he brings that varied experience into his role as a guitar instructor.

I took lessons from Matthew in the early 90's in the O.C. (So. Calif) and coming from just a self-taught rock background and with 20 years experience under my belt at the time, Matthew opened up new worlds for me that I never thought existed! He taught me some very cool jazz standards and chordal voicings that you couldn't find in books at the time and taught me how to form voicings of my own based on theory. Matthew is very down to earth and never makes you feel intimidated. He truly cares about instructing his students to the best of his capacity. St. Louis is truly blessed by having such an awesome guitar teacher!!!
