Fairmount School Of Music Since 1988 under its founder, Kevin Richards, we are a coalition of professional musicians who provide private instruction in strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, piano, guitars, ukulele, banjo, mandolin and voice. The diverse background of our staff covers a range of musical styles and genres that includes classical, folk, jazz, blues, flamenco, bluegrass, rock, heavy metal, R&B, and gospel.

Students of all ages experience a customized curriculum that can include music theory, harmony, ear training and composition. Lessons are given all year round. Recitals are hosted three times a year.

People
Anthony Anastasi
Brass
Tony is a band director in the Cleveland School System. His first teacher was his father, Jim Anastasi who teaches at FSM, also. Tony later studied with Charles Couch of the Cleveland Orchestra.
Jim Brenner
Banjo
Although Jim attended the Miami University of Ohio, he learned how to play the banjo in clubs such as the Kenmill where Vernon, Ralph Stanley, and Sonny Osborne showed him techniques in between sets. He formed the groups, “Lost Bob & the Ozone Ramblers” and “The Bottom Line”.
Ann Marie Falcone
Clarinet, Piano & Voice
Ms. Falcone is originally from Bethlehem, PA, where she took piano, clarinet and voice lessons while growing up. She was selected to sing in the Children's Bach Choir and was cast in various musicals as a kid. In 2011-2012, Ann Marie was invited to sing as a chorister for Opera Circle.
Andols Herrick
Drums
Andy Herrick completed several semesters of his performance degree at Kent State University before embarking on a career as a touring and recording musician. He has toured the world with the band Chimaira headlining with them and opening for the bands Disturbed and Korn, among others.
Sandy Jerryl Love
Guitar
As an educator, Mr. Love has taught in the Detroit and Southfield Public School systems. He has also taught at MaryGrove College, Cranbrook Institute in West Bloomfield, Michigan and teaches numerous private students.
Deborah Van Kleef
Guitar & Ukulele
Deborah has taught guitar at Fairmount since 1995, and ukulele since 2008, working with beginners aged 3 to 80. Her first instrument was flute, which she studied with members of the Cleveland Orchestra, and in the wind performance program at York University in Toronto where she earned a B.A. in English.
