I have worked as a musician with Martin Sexton, Kim Simmons of Savoy Brown, Jim Prescott of G. Love and Special Sauce, and have shared the stage with many other national performers.
Study the basics of your instrument with chords and songs, or delve into advanced harmony, theory and improvisation in a one on one setting. I offer what you won't get from an online lessons program. I teach an understanding of music that transcends the usual list of endless scales and boring exercises.

Jay is an amazing teacher. My 13 year old son has been his student since he was 6 years old. Jay is patient and an overall wonderful teacher. He designs the lessons based on the student's interests. Not only can my son play the guitar, he can actually help his sister who plays the flute read her music and corrects her when she plays the wrong notes. Rates are very reasonable and he is flexible when it comes to scheduling. Respeful man and we are pleased he is part of our lives. A plus, through music Jay taught my son fractions : It sounded odd to me since my wife and I aren't musical at all but apprently there is a link between math and music.

Jay is AMAZING! My daughter has taken guitar lessons with him from the time she was 6 years old. The rate she has grown musically is incredible. She has recently started playing the cello as well, and he has incorporated new methods to coincide with that so the two instrumental lessons help strengthen the other. I am more than impressed and tell every person that's interested in guitar to go to Jay!

Jay is an outstanding teacher. Honestly, my son has given up numerous activities throughout the years except for guitar. He has been studying it for 6 years now and it's the only thing he won't quit. Jay wouldn't give up and kept challenging him. The growth my son exhibited musically is astonishing. We are very grateful for him as a teacher. His calmness and patience allowed my son to grow as a musician.
