Georgia A. Abbott
Georgia A. Abbott moved to Midland in 1998 and, while pursuing her MBA, simultaneously opened The Children’s School of Music, LLC, an early-childhood music program. Since 1999, the school has grown to an enrollment of over 130 area children each year and provides extension programs for Midland’s daycare, preschool, library and MCFTA music outreach programs. In 11 years, The Children’s School of Music has provided music education to over 900 children.

Corey Musonda
Corey Musonda has been with the Children’s School of Music since 2006. Since then, she has contributed greatly to expanding the curriculum at our school by leveraging the Harmony Road concepts into our own unique program for teaching guitar to children, as well as extending the Harmony Road toddler program to our develop a class for non-walking babies, “Baby Harmony”.

Nicole Fisher
Nicole began taking classes at The Children’s School of Music when she was 5 years old. She joined the Siebert Elementary School band in 5th grade, playing the clarinet. While at Jefferson Middle School, she continued playing the clarinet, sang in the choir, began taking drum lessons and joined the Resonators Percussion Ensemble, along with her ongoing classes at TCSOM.

She explains the learning process, the underpinnings of the programs, and the importance of the development of musicianship in young children.
Harmony Road Curriculum Books
At the Children's School of Music we use the Harmony Road curriculum by Jan Keyser. This program begins with Toddler Tunes and continues through ~ Middle School level music and piano. We have also developed our own in-house "Baby Harmony", Kid's Guitar lessons, and "Singers Club", that follow the same principles and fundamentals taught in Harmony Road method.
TCSOM Baby, Toddler, & Preschool Music Classes
Scenes from The Children's School of Music Baby, Toddler, & Preschool classes invites you to virtually experience a class. You'll see young children play piano, marching & moving their bodies to rhythms, singing, and playing a variety of hand-held musical instruments in our upbeat, fun, and joyful classes.
Sneak Peek at Our New Classroom in the Midland Center for the Arts!
The Children's School of Music is moving into the Midland Center for the Arts - Studio 7. Miss Georgia takes us on a tour of the new classroom and shows us around the Center. There's some fun things to do after your music class, too! You'll notice a lot of familiar things, like our pianos, big circle rug, musical art work, instruments, and toys in the children's playroom. We can't wait to see you soon!
Keyboardfest 2012 Performance
Who's throwing those snakes? Ssssssssss It's Ms. Georgia, chief organizer of snake tossing. The audience really enjoyed this piece at Keyboardfest this year. Keyboardfest is an annual concert organized by 15-20 are piano teachers in partnership with the Midland Center for the Arts and Evola Music (of Detroit), who supplies the pianos.
Midland High Chemics Drumline
Closing Rhapsody 2011 at the Midland Center for the Arts, the Cemics Drumline performs approx. 8 minutes! Cool! (and loud!). Rhapsody is a talent show of Midland (MI) High School student performances. Participants include the Drama Club, the Marching Band, the Orchestra, the Jazz Band, the Chorus, the Meistersingers, Pom Pon, Squad, Cheerleading Squad, and many individual and small group performances.
