Simply the best place for your music needs or to get lessons. The staff is very attentive and helpful. Roberson's Music also arranged the best tutor (Kate) to instruct my daughter in violin and piano! Simply the first place you should look for anything music related!

My son has been taking piano and flute lessons at Roberson's for two years. The teachers and staff are all very knowledgeable, friendly, and encouraging to students of all levels. When everything closed due to Covid this spring, they were able to move my son to virtual lessons right away. He continues to make excellent progress with both instruments and looks forward to the online lessons as much as the in-person ones.

We have also purchased a variety of lesson books and other music-related items at Roberson's: they almost always have what we are looking for (and can often order something for you if it's not in stock) and they are happy to answer questions or help you find what you need. Highly recommended!

Roberson's employees are always helpful and friendly. The music teachers are great. We transitioned to virtual lessons and it was seamless. I have really appreciated my children having music lessons during this quarantine.

I have been taking lessons here for many years with multiple instructors and have never had any complaints. The same applies to buying instruments, accessories, and music books. Roberson's provides great services and a great shop to the local music community.

I decided to start learning the violin as an adult and it has been one of the best decisions I have made, and Roberson's was supportive 100% of the way. While I was doing research, Roberson's was the only place that gave me a prompt call back, let me talk to a representative about my needs for starting lessons, and a price I could afford to pay. I would recommend them 100% to any and everyone looking to start or maintain paying an instrument.

My instructor is Kate H. and she is wonderful, makes learning fun and easy, and is so encouraging and understanding of my schedule. I plan on remaining a Roberson's customer for years to come and have encouraged all my friends who are interested to look them up!

We purchased a violin for my son at Roberson's last August. I wanted a starter violin for him, as he had never played but wanted to learn. The staff helped me pick the right violin without trying to persuade me to buy the most expensive. My son now takes violin lessons through Roberson's with Katherine Hummel. He has been taking lessons since September and he loves it! Kate is very accommodating to his schedule, especially with the closure due to the Corona virus pandemic. Roberson's immediately transitioned to virtual lessons and my son has not missed a lesson.

They have made the best of a not so good situation and my son is improving each week. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful at Roberson's and I was able to go recently and purchase some books that my son needed. They have always had what we needed. Roberson's is highly recommend for lessons and any of your musical needs.

My daughter has enjoyed taking lessons here for the past 5 years. They have really helped her musical talent grow. All her teachers have been great, especially Kate. Thanks.

My son began piano lessons at Robertson School of Music right before the pandemic broke out, just to pick up on a new skill. There is no wonder why this particular school of music had so many referrals. The sign up process was a breeze, they're extremely professional and made it quick and easy for my son to just jump right in! Katherine Hummel has been so patient with her teachings, very accurate with her timing and her love for the piano truly shows.

I was told that she works great with kids and that was an understatement, she is phenomenal! She helps makes time to help out in anyway she is able be it uploading individual learning video to sending over practice worksheets. I've been taking violin lessons with Kate for 1 1/2 years now and its been a wonderful experience. The lessons went to remove via computers seamlessly. The personnel at Roberson's has been friendly and professional with a lot of knowledge.

Bravo! As a musician with a big community-based concert band, I have continued my relationship with Roberson's. COVID interrupted the band activity, but as I continue enjoying frequent outdoor clarinet trio practice sessions to "stay in shape, " I return to Roberson's. A couple of weeks ago, Gene the instrument technician (also experienced music educator and musician) provided expert examination, maintenance adjustments, and a couple of minor fixes for me. Jamie the store manager, Andrew, and other staff are courteous and professional. It's been a while since I've seen him, but on occasions when the owner Mr. Roberson is in the store, he too is courteous and you can tell that he values his and the store's presence and reputation in the Fredericksburg region.

I became a Roberson's Music customer in early 2016, when I retired from a forty-year non-music career: I turned to Roberson's for my clarinet's overhaul and restoration to almost-new condition, for a very reasonable fee. I give a good bit of credit to Roberson's for the successful and happy return to clarinet-playing. Roberson's also placed me with a talented local musician-instructor/educator, after carefully evaluating my situation and needs. The refresher lessons were provided in one of the stores numerous music rooms.

I really appreciate this company. They have wonderful people and are very helpful. I also worked with Kate Hummel to learn the piano and it was a great experience.

So my daughters school needed her to rent a violin for class and so we came here, was only looking to spend $25 which is also what the teacher informed how much everything would be and instead, I end up spending $70. The representative just kept adding things onto the list that she did not mandatorily need as I found out when we brought the things to the teacher.

So when I call into the store to see if I can return what I didn't need all they could do is give me store credit. Usually don't write reviews but never coming here again, it's one thing to provide outstanding customer service which I did not receive, I don't have much knowledge on what is needed for a violin and therefore the associate should've explained that as he was just throwing things on the counter for me to purchase. Assuming he knew what was needed I did not question it until I spoke to another parent who said she only spent $25 at the same place. Ridiculous.

It can be a little bit on the pricey side at times, but it is a very nice store. Lots to offer and good if you want to browse sheet music. In the past it was my go-to place for finding advanced solo sheet music for somewhat unorthodox instruments (i. e. advanced solos written for tuba)

Great place to find gently used instruments & accessories. Easy in/out location. Helpful service staff.
