My daughter has been attending piano play for almost two years and I can't rave enough about this program! Each week we both look forward to class. The teacher (Ms Sharon) is so engaging and understands how to capture and keep the attention of highly energized children. The books and songs are age appropriate and easy for the children to follow along.
I highly recommend this program regardless of what level of experience your child has with piano. They offer both group and private classes and a weekend schedule which works great for us working parents!

Our daughter is graduating their group class program and advancing into private classes (at age 6). We love the school because of its learning atmosphere and the play-sing- communicate approach. Also, even if their staff and teachers are very busy, they will always find time to address promptly whatever questions you may have and are always courteous, friendly and positive! Highly recommended by us and our kids!

Music is a full body experience, and if you love music you can always tell when you are in the presence of others who love it as well. Piano Play is that exactly. My daughter has been coming here for almost two years and we love the classes and the instructors. The books are easy to follow, and classroom instruction is structured for the children. Coming here will allow you to watch your child grow intellectually, and as a musician.

My daughter is in Music Tails book 2. This program is amazing! Not only is the program, the way they teach the kids super smart and thorough, but the teachers are amazing too! We have loved every teacher we have had. Super energetic and kid friendly. I never grew up with music, so it's a major plus that I'm learning too: I'm actually inspired to take up another instrument.
She is now about to start playing with both hands. They have their own songs too that she really enjoys and many she finds funny. She has learned music concepts, playing with each hand, music terms, notes, reading music, ear training, singing, other instruments and their families. And she isn't even 5 years old yet! I'm very happy I found this place.

What I like about this class, is that it's 1/3 piano, 1/3 singing and 1/3 music theory. There are too many piano classes out there that just teaches your child to memorize a bunch of patterns. Sure, they are playing songs, but they don't really understand the music. Teaching singing and listening is a big part of music, and this music school does a great job.
I wish the class was a bit faster pace, but since it is a group class, it progresses rather slowly because students practice a different amount at home. Overall, I really recommend it.

My children really enjoy learning to play piano here! The lessons are fun and they introduce the notes and musical elements as characters and really get the kids engaged. They take off their shoes and jump on a giant floor mat of a music staff, sing songs and learn to read music every step of the way. Soon, they are playing with two hands, doing more advanced chords and writing notes. The environment is friendly and casual and it's really remarkable how quickly the kids are learning to read and play music.

Our daughter started when she was 4 in group class and learned the basics in a fun way. The use characters and songs to reinforce the lessons. She recently turned 6 and is in private lessons now. She performed in her 4th recital and we were amazed at her poise and confidence in front of the audience. We are very pleased with her progress.

The best! My son has been attending the Sherman Oaks location for nine years since he was 3 years old. He plays piano wonderfully. Teachers are super energetic so it's not a bore for my son to come to the short 30min- 45min class once per week and the twice per year recitals where the students perform on stage are great for their self esteem.
