Beginner or Advanced ... any age ... all of our students are taught music theory, reading, practice skills, or just a brush up on their "chops". Many of our students participate in their school's marching, concert and jazz bands. Our teachers work with the students on their All State requirements, as well as any school related concert and audition (including college).Both locations offer quality private music lessons in guitar, bass, piano, drums, voice, woodwinds and brass. Our lessons are tailored to each individual student's needs, interests and goals. They are designed to be fun and ensure a steady progress. Our instructors are friendly, knowledgeable, patient and committed to challenging each student to bring out their full potential.

I work with a young man who has Down syndrome. He LOVES music more than anything else and plays drums and guitars that he has at home. He has learned to play just from instinct and from watching other people, until now! Shawn and I checked out the Guitar Studio on a whim as we drove by. Matt the owner greeted us, explained what they do and gave us a tour.
I spoke openly with him to find out if he thought they could teach someone like Shawn. Matt was honest and said they did not have anyone that specialized or had a degree in special needs but thought he had an instructor that would be a good fit. A week later Shawn was enrolled for his first guitar lesson at the Guitar Studio. Steve his teacher was very patient and understanding.
After the 30 minute lesson I think Steve and Shawn were equally impressed with each other. Shawn has had his second and third lesson already and it seems like a perfect fit. In the waiting area we see people of all ages (teens to adults) who are at all different levels of ability and all getting better by the week. Thank you Matt for being so welcoming that first day. We look forward to many, many more lessons in your space!

Our daughter was married 9/17/21 @ Newport Vineyards in RI. In a beautiful setting, made even more beautiful with the music performed by Matt Kearns! Moments are what make a wedding special, and Matt helped us make a few that day! So many of our guests complimented on the music for the ceremony and cocktail hour and the special sing along that Matt helped to execute, epic!
People are still singing "It's a Jolly Holiday with Mary". Matt is so talented; you will not be disappointed! We met with him at his studio, and he helped personalize the wedding, even learning songs we requested that he had never played before. Professional, reliable, so accommodating, this is one very important wedding detail you will not have to worry about with Matt.

Matt and crew played our backyard wedding and it was amazing! I do not have enough kind things to say about Matt as a professional. Due to the pandemic we had to reschedule, not once, not twice, but three times and he was accommodating each time without any frustration or question. When it came to the preparation before hand he was very quick and supportive with his responses.
As for the day of the wedding, what can I say!? IT WAS PERFECT! (the weather not so much), but even in a tropical storm, Matt and his band mates showed up, kept spirits high, and played their A$$es off! If it wasn't for my wife, I would say they stole the show!;) Interacting with the crowd, taking pictures, telling jokes, they truly were part of the night!
I could go on and on about these guys, but I'll spare you, all I know is that they WILL be playing any backyard parties, family reunions, etc that we ever host. Thank you so much Matt! I wish you nothing but the best.

Matt Kearns played classical guitar at our wedding ceremony at South Ferry Church and it was amazing. As we walked out of the church Matt played "Sweet Caroline" and all of our guests chimed in. It was a memorable moment! All of our guests raved about how good the music was and we wanted to take a moment to highly recommend him!

I enrolled my 5 yo daughter for private piano lessons and was very impressed with the professionalism of her teacher Carl, who has been very patient and flexible with my "theatrical" soon-to-be kindergartener. The co-owner, Matt Kearns, who holds a degree in Classical and Jazz Studies is very friendly and made us feel welcomed right away. They have a recording studio available for those ready to create CDs.
Young aspiring musicians form bands and perform live music, which is SUPER COOL! Very modern and hip. Private tutorial rates are affordable. Family owned and professional, which I appreciate.
