Northeast Iowa School of Music NISOM teaches private lessons in piano, voice, guitar, and all standard band and orchestra instruments, as well as a variety of group classes for all ages. Programs are available for preschoolers through senior citizens. No experience or audition is required. NISOM makes music assessible to everyone! Scholarship assistance is available to those who qualify. We also sponsor the Dubuque Community String Orchestra and New Horizons Band, non-auditioned adult ensembles that give free public performances.

Kevin Bibelhausen
Voice
Kevin Bibelhausen is a 2012 graduate of Clarke University where he studied with Maestro John Lease, his voice instructor for eight years. Kevin is active as a soloist in the area and intends on continuing his music studies ( voice/ conducting) in the near future.
Thomas Taylor Dickey
Piano, Bassoon
Dr. Thomas Taylor Dickey holds degrees from Eastern Illinois University, Louisiana State University, and the University of Georgia. Currently, he is the Conductor of the Dubuque Youth Symphony Orchestra, Director of Instrumental Music at the University of Dubuque, and Organist at First Congregational United Church of Christ.
Karen Geyer
Cello
Mrs. Geyer is a Suzuki cello instructor certified through Book 4. She also teaches traditional cello students any age. She has performed professionally with the Lake Forest Symphony, Dubuque Symphony, University of Wisconsin Orchestra
Jill Heitzman-Carlock
Voice, Flute
Jill is a full-time Assistant Professor of Music and Chair of General Education at Divine Word College in Epworth, IA. She has a Masters Degree in Vocal Music Performance from Northwestern Universtiy.
Paula Welter
Woodwinds
Mrs. Welter has studied with Tom Ayres, Robert Estock and Bob Sladky, and graduated for the University of Iowa. She teaches concert and jazz bands at Drexler Middle School, as well as bands at Peosta Elementary and Seton Catholic School
Dennis Williams
Woodwinds, Voice
Mr. Williams was the Founder and Director of the Dubuque Chorale for 35 years and principal bassoonist with the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra for 20 years. He taught music at the University of Dubuque for 29 years and has served as an adjunct faculty member at Clarke College

NISOM's L&MOP with Dan Knight: Twinkle Jazz
Pianist Dan Knight uses a familiar melody (Twinkle Twinkle Little Star) to teach kids about jazz at NISOM's Lollipops & Music for Our Preschoolers concert on March 9, 2013 at Carnegie Stout Public Library. L&MOP events are made possibly by a grant from the City of Dubuque.
