Children's Music Academy At the Childrens Music Academy we specialize in teaching music to children in a fun, positive, non-pressured and lively classroom setting. In this emotionally-safe environment, children have the freedom to love and appreciate music, while developing fundamental musical skills that will last a lifetime.

Our proprietary curriculum was first utilized in Southern California in 1974. Since then, CMA has specialized in quality music education, benefiting thousands of young children. The carefully written and updated curriculum focuses on age-appropriate activities, which are designed to develop lifelong musical appreciation and aptitude. Our courses cover all the beginning levels of musicianship and are age appropriate, sequential and cumulative.

Classes meet one hour per week in a small-group setting. The fun and supportive environment naturally draws children into the learning activities. Activities are fast-paced. They incorporate games, songs, dances, and ensemble playing; and involve a variety of musical instruments. Parents actively participate with their child.

All of our three children have graduated from or are going through the CMA program right now. I can't say enough about the curriculum and the teachers are amazing. The group classes are a great way for a parent and child to bond and when a child graduates from the program, they are all set to head right into learning another instrument very successfully!

We have been with this school for 5 years and could not be more thrilled. The education is amazing! The emphasis in musical theory and reading music is beyond any private lessons! This have been the best experience for us! The teachers are amazing and they work so hard to make sure you understand!

This is the best music education, at a great value. Children learn ear training in addition to sight reading, and are exposed to a variety of instruments even while piano is the focus. Classes are fun and chock full of content. This is a MUCH better option than private lessons, especially for young children. It's cheaper, too! I've recommended CMA to so many people and will continue to do so.

We have three children involved in the program. All the staff/instructors are wonderful. We enjoy the active environment in learning music. Makes it fun and the kids look forward to it every week. The instructors are knowledgeable and helpful. They give individual attention to each student to help each child have a positive and successful experience. Highly recommend!

Children's Music Academy has been great for my first time piano player. The lessons keep her attention & the kids are able to get their wiggles out during class. Mr. Bud is very encouraging and accommodating to different levels of learners. I highly recommend Children's Music Academy.

Our kids love their piano class. Ms Karra makes it a lot of fun and is a very gifted teacher in tune with the needs of each student and aware of keeping all the kids engaged. We feel the small class makes it an atmosphere more appealing to younger kids than private lessons. During this time of social distancing they have done an exceptional job at continuing to teach our kids virtually and we look forward to being back in the classroom again when that is possible.

We love CMA so much! The classes teach kids to play, read, and write music in a way that is super fun and intuitive for them. I put 2 of my kids through this program and plan to enroll my youngest as well. The teachers are so kind, energetic, and caring that they've becomes like family. You'll be amazed at what these kids can learn and how far they can advance in just a few short years.

They start with piano, but they also learn singing, drums, guitar, recorder, and how to play in an ensemble. I highly recommend this program to any and every family that wants to give their child the gift of music!

Children's music academy is the best mudic program for young children. It's engaging and entertaining and they learn a lot. My kids (boys) love it and are learning to play the piano very quickly.

This is such an amazing program, my daughter graduated from the Masters program a year ago and even though she already had a love for music, she is so well rounded now. She can read music proficiently, she is confident and enjoys playing for herself and other people. This is a gift she will enjoy for the rest of her life. And our instructor Deanna is such a brilliant and intuitive instructor. I really can't say enough wonderful things about this program.

I have taught at Children's Music Academy for 14 and a half years and it is a wonderful, thorough musical education from top to bottom. It isn't music exploration, but rather a holistic music program that incorporates many musical aspects with a piano emphasis. The theory gained from CMA is phenomenal. I had the privilege of taking my son through all 4 1/2 years of CMA ending in 2017 and he has taken privately since then. He has also taken up violin. Please come to a free informational class to learn more about CMA. Sign up at Childrensmusicacademy.org.

We love Children's Music Academy! The curriculum is awesome, and the teachers really care. Both of my kids (ages 5 and 8) enjoy music class, and they are learning so much.

My oldest daughter completed the CMA basic and masters programs and my younger daughter completed most of the basic program. Their participation did improve their musical literacy. My major criticism is that the teachers move very fast and do not provide enough opportunity for kids to seek help. If a kid can't follow what the teacher is doing at a fast enough pace, he or she just gets left in the dust.

On the other hand, the teachers do a good job with music theory and with the basics of keyboard play. Your child will have a good sense of rhythm, understand time signatures, read music, and even have something of a musical ear if they stick out the program long enough and try. You may find that, if you move your child on to private lessons, the instructional methods change enough that CMA's stuff recedes in importance.

Two of my children attend Children's Music Academy at the Park HIll location in Denver. My oldest completed the 3.5 year program. I can't say enough good things about CMA. It is an amazing program that gives children a solid, well-rounded music foundation. The thing I enjoyed most about the program is that the children get to perform in front of their classmates every week so that by the end of 3 years, they think performing is no big deal.

My son is so confident when he has to speak or perform publicly, and I attribute that to CMA. The two teachers we experienced were exceptional too. I didn't fully appreciate the program until we moved away and couldn't find something comprable. Highly recommended!
