I have loved my experience with Red Pelican Music Lessons! I was paired with one of the vocal teachers in my local area. What started as vocal lessons has blossomed into a hybrid of vocal, piano, and guitar as my teacher is so qualified and has been able to tailor our lessons to my specific interests. Within one month my vocal range doubled! She is so helpful, encouraging, and has empowered me to consider performing at an open mic night. I love working with Michaela and I am grateful to have found such an amazing teacher!

My son has worked with 2 different instructors from this music school for Music Production and they both have been fantastic. Communication is easy, they are very professional, and I'm so grateful to have found them!

Red Pelican is a great way to learn music. I have been taking Piano lessons with Ulf and my progress has gone up exponentially, exceeding even my own expectations. Of course you have to put the work in yourself and practice, but my teacher has provided me with the tools/knowledge to maximize my study time. The lessons themselves always feel like a good use of time with no wasted moments on fluff.

If you haven't taken any sort of music lessons recently (like I have before starting this) and have no idea what a normal price for a lesson would be, the price looks steep. However, when compared to similar services in the same area it is very competitive, if not better. The quality of the lessons is very high and the teachers/staff are all very flexible and accommodating. Overall it is worth it and I don't see myself switching schools any time in the future.

We have had a great experience with Red Pelican. Our son's piano teacher Lily has taught him so much, is flexible and always on time and even helps him learn to play his favorite songs from his video games! We'd highly recommend Red Pelican!

I had been playing guitar (self-taught) for 15 years before deciding I needed lessons to take my playing to the next level. After doing a lot of research and working with several other instructors, I linked up with Red Pelican who have been excellent since the first contact. They asked me a few questions about my playing style and goals, and ended up assigning Jeff as my instructor.

No joke - Under Jeff's instruction over these past 5 months, I've had more progress on the instrument than in the past 10 years. Jeff is a super skilled musician and great educator. He can also shred your face off. He's helped me to see the connections on the fretboard, and the importance of theory for writing and playing. I'll put it this way, If I ever lose Jeff as a guitar instructor I will be super bummed. Thank you Red Pelican!

Been doing zoom banjo lessons with Ethan and couldn't be happier! Was skeptical of the zoom aspect at first, but I've learned so much in such a short time and the convenience of being able to take classes from anywhere that I have an internet connection and a laptop has been great for my crazy schedule. Ethan is super patient. He structures his lessons around learning songs, which I love.

I tried to learn clawhammer on my own for years with little progress. The fact that I can play several short songs already is just crazy. Couldn't recommend Red Pelican more.

Just wow. We had the pleasure of having Josh teach our 9 year old twins the ukulele. His peaceful demeanor, patience and ability to make the experience fun was simply wonderful. I couldn't recommend red pelican more, especially Josh. He's the MVP!

Red Pelican Music Lessons is top notch! They are very communicative - I communicated with Brian via text and email to sign my son up for piano lessons. It was so easy. Our instructor, Alex Cap, is fantastic as well! He's always on time, very professional. My son is learning so much. I really can't say enough about them! I highly recommend Red Pelican if you're thinking about signing your kid up for lessons.

My son is taking his first music lessons with Red Pelican and it has been seamless. We use Will Y. for guitar. Never having taken lessons before, I was assuming my son would moan and groan about lessons or practicing. Instead, he loves it! Will makes guitar fun and easy going. He keeps it at a level that is easy to master in order to minimize frustration. I highly recommend using Red Pelican to find your music teachers for kids.

My daughter loves her voice lessons. Online appointments make it very accessible and keeps her in her safe and comfortable in an at home environment. She is excited to start guitar lessons soon! Highly recommend Red Pelican Music

I took my first clarinet lesson forty-six days before my sixty-fifth birthday. Yep, out of the blue, at sixty-four, without any music experience at all, I decided to learn to play the clarinet. Does that sound crazy to you? It did to me. I wasn't even sure if it was possible. I searched online for clarinet instructions. Keep in mind, this was the middle of the current COVID-19 quarantine, so I wasn't surprised that all lessons were being held on zoom.

My Google search gave me a couple of options, including Red Pelican Music. A couple of emails and phone calls. Later, I had my first class scheduled through Red Pelican with Ari Silberman, zoom lesson, of course. And it turned out great. Ari is engaging, supportive, patient. We've had twelve one hour lessons. I've gone from having never played a note to learning songs.

In between classes, Ari is available to answer email questions, even over the phone, when my practice sessions became especially frustrating. When I started with Ari, he asked me what my goals were. I told him since I could not play at all right now, I'd like to be able to play badly in a year. Ari thought I was kidding, I wasn't, and he was confident he could have me playing badly in a short period of time and then we would work on playing well. So, what happened? I've made more progress than I thought I could.

I won't be auditioning for the New York Philharmonic anytime soon, but now if anyone asks me if I can play an instrument, I can say "yes." In twelve short weeks, Ari has gotten me from learning notes to learning songs. This is a long review with a short point, Ari is great.

For guitar lessons that balance technique, theory, and fun, I can't recommend Jeff more highly. I had about 15 years of guitar experience prior to coming to Jeff, and was looking for someone to help me take my playing to the next level. To be honest, I am stoked on the progress I've made with Jeff's guidance. We've been focusing on metal and shred, and his passion for the music has really made it come alive.

When we work through a new song, Jeff helps me to understand what is happening musically and the effect of a guitar player's note choice in the context of the song. For those that have dreaded music theory in the past, this is a great approach. Analyzing the theory behind a song that you're excited to play makes the learning much more enjoyable. Jeff goes way above and beyond your typical guitar teacher, taking the time to show me new music and expand my listening horizons.

After every lesson, Jeff sends incredibly detailed emails to recap everything we discussed that day. His emails make it clear what I need to be working on so it's easy for me to use my practice time efficiently and make progress at a steady clip. Jeff is also just a cool guy to hang out with, and I really look forward to my lesson every week. In summary: definitely take guitar lessons with Jeff.

My 5 year old son has just begun piano lessons with Ashely. He is engaged and Ashley has been incredible. She is fun, warm, patient and somehow manages to engage a 5 year old in challenging learning concepts. I sincerely appreciate the responsiveness of the team. It's rare to find a kind group of people that follow through and make their clientele feel valued.

My experience was wonderful! My best friend gifted me the best Christmas present ever, a gift certificate for four piano lessons with Red Pelican Music! He said that after contacting other companies, Red Pelican was not only the friendliest in customer service but also the only company in the L.A. area that sold gift certificates! Brian from Red Pelican was extremely helpful and cooperative with pairing me up with the perfect instructor for me.

My instructor, Anastasia, was great! She was very patient, helpful, and friendly. I learned so much from her in just those four lessons. I would definitely consider and always recommend Red Pelican Music and Anastasia in the future.

My daughter (age 12) has been taking uke lessons with Will for about 3 months now, and we are incredibly impressed. He picks cool music to learn (and is just a cool dude in general), and my daughter is always excited for and by her lessons. She doesn't even argue with me when I tell her it's time to practice, which I count as a win. Based on our experience so far, I would highly recommend Red Pelican for music lessons.

I've had an excellent experience getting drums lessons through Red Pelican for almost two years. I came in with no prior experience, but the lessons have always been at the right pace, and my teacher, Neil, is a great, talented drummer and teacher. Brian, the owner, has always been incredibly helpful and quick to respond. I strongly recommend Red Pelican to anyone looking to cultivate or refine musical skills!

I take drum lessons here as a UCLA graduate student! My instructor, Logan, is absolutely amazing, especially with drumming technique. Red Pelican has some drumset practice rooms in the Sawtelle neighborhood where the instructors and students meet. Students are able to reserve practice space 24/7 for themselves. This has been an ideal set up for me!

Love Love Love Red Pelican Music. We have been with Brian and his team for almost 3 years now. It has been one of the best and most rewarding experiences. My son was taking piano lessons with Cassie, who is amaaazzing. She's super talented and kid friendly and her bubbly fun spirit makes lessons enjoyable and a breeze. Unfortunately. eCassie's schedule just recently changed and we had to switch to a new teacher. Brian made sure that we would have someone just as amazing as Cassie so we are excited to start our new journey with Evelyn. If you are looking to learn any instrument you can't go wrong working with this group of great talented teachers.

Had a great time taking lessons with Scott through Red Pelican. I already had most of the basics down, but he helped me solidify those while showing me more advanced technical and theory stuff to get better at writing and improvising. We especially clicked since he could help me with some pretty advanced 7-string guitar techniques, which was great since it's tough to find people who can teach extended range guitar stuff. Would highly recommend Scott for beginner through advanced students!

Red Pelican has been a great way for me to get back into learning music the right way. I had played in school bands growing up, but naturally things changed when I graduated and started working full-time. I tried teaching myself the mandolin for a while, but I wanted to get back into studying music seriously again and Red Pelican has been the perfect way to do so. Ethan is a great teacher who really pushes me and makes me work hard every lesson.

It's awesome being taught music from someone who knows and has played with some of my favorite musicians! My whole experience with Red Pelican has been very positive. They're going to make sure you have a great time.

My seven-year-old, Kaleb, has really taken to the Ukelele thanks to Sabastian's expert, positive, and patient care. We're four lessons in and I am thrilled with the progress Kaleb is making and with the clarity of Sabastian's approach making it so easy. Most importantly, though, we're thrilled that Kaleb is enjoying himself and has found a mentor he looks up to and looks forward to learning from. Definitely recommend Red Pelican! The process has been better than advertised!

Red Pelican has been great! I'm an adult with no prior music experience, and my previous attempts at learning piano never went anywhere. But my instructor, Jason, sets just the right pace for me, and gives me a good mix of theory and fun song-playing. The owner, Brian, is really good about setting you up with an instructor that meets your needs and checking in on you. Highly recommended!

I didn't know anything about music/piano. I signed up for a complete beginners course and got matched up with Ulf. He is amazing! Super patient, super intelligent, super talented and always excited to teach new things. I'm four lessons in and I'm having a blast.

"Learn how to play drums" can now be checked off my bucket list thanks to Logan at Red Pelican. Logan had me jump right in the first lesson, playing along to music. He is very kind, patient and encouraging. I still have a long way to go, but I am excited to keep working on it. Five stars for Brian, the owner as well. He is quick to respond, easy to work with and seems like a genuinely nice guy. I highly recommend!

Everything about this company is really wonderful. 1) The business owner is just a really nice guy. Very accommodating to your needs and requirements in matching you with a teacher. And they really do try to match with the perfect instructor. They have so many different types of backgrounds and personalities. 2) Students have two different options: (a) Go to instructor's studio or (b) do a private lesson. 3) Easy payment system. Refunds are easy if necessary. Now, let's talk about my instructor, Jason.

I can't say that I can be as old as his mother.hahahaha. But he had an incredibly youthful charm to him. I had really loved playing piano as a child and I wanted a teacher who can inspire that feeling of love and admiration for the piano again. Although that feeling didn't quite come back, I had fun with Jason. I told him from the beginning that having fun was all that mattered. In the end, I had to quit because life with 2 kids was just too crazy. I'll definitely be back to Red Pelican when my girls are at an age that they can play the piano.

I can't thank enough red Pelican music. After a 30-year break (!) I decided to Play piano again and also sing which I had only done at school as a kid. Needless to say, I was extremely excited and at the same time terrified at the idea of learning something new at 43. As a kid, I had stopped playing piano because - in my time - piano lessons were extremely boring and I grew tired of just learning pieces by heart without understanding the underlying mechanisms. Brian set me up with Syreeta (their scheduling system works great and is very simple), and I can say now that this is probably the best decision I have taken in many years. Syreeta was perfect at alleviating my fears as a beginner, understanding how to learn the basics and push myself increasingly every week.

Every time I thought something was impossible, I was able to move forward and improve on a weekly basis. Syreeta was able to create an extremely relaxed atmosphere, without judgement, but at the same time challenging enough that every lesson made me feel it lasted only five minutes because of how fun they were! Also, I was so inspired that it gave me an even stronger desire to sharpen my piano skills, Brian helped me (after I asked him) in finding a monthly specific piano teacher to give me assignments for the next month so I could improve on that side.

I will never forget the moment I was suddenly able to play piano and sing at the same time, it truly felt surreal, and I was shocked to be able to do so. This is probably very common for musicians, but as a beginner it is an incredible feeling I can't recommend enough Red Pelican and Syreeta (if you want to learn Piano/singing). It really allowed me to discover a part of myself I only dreamed of previously.

I've been drumming for about 12 years but found myself stuck in a rut and didn't see myself growing as a drummer. So I decided to reach out to Red Pelican Music and they set me up for drum lessons with Neil. The process of scheduling lessons was very smooth, Brian, and Neil, are very accommodating when setting up the lessons, and explaining the process.

With the first lesson, Neil had me focus more on my dynamics, which I've already seen a huge improvement in my drumming due to his guidance. He had me really dig into the kick drum, crack into the snare, and find a solid sound in the hi-hat. Seeing my improvement, and progress happening so fast has made the experience enjoyable! Neil taught me how to read music, understand note values, and now I'm even starting to sight read, which is helpful for practicing on my own time.

He opened my eyes to explore new drum styles such as Jazz, Bossa Nova, Samba, Funk, and Reggae. Now when I have rehearsal with the band they all notice how much I've improved and now I sound more confident as a drummer, and I couldn't be happier! Thank you Red Pelican, and Neil for the amazing experience!

Simply superb! For the past few years I have been meaning to get back into music and I kept making excuses but I finally gave Red Pelican a call and I am so glad that I did. Brian was amazing - he spent so much time with me on the phone answering all of my questions with the utmost patience. I was impressed with the way he really tries to get to know your musical taste and how he made me feel instantly comfortable, like we had been friends for years! I'm learning electric guitar with Thomas and I can tell you this: never in my life did I think I would be able to play like I do now after only 4 lessons.

I have never previously played a string instrument so it was a big adjustment, but Thomas is such a great teacher, knowing how to strike the perfect balance between making you feel comfortable and pushing you to accomplish more difficult songs. I love his approach to teaching, he knows that you don't want to just play endless scales even as a beginner.

You want to get to the good stuff! By the end of my first lesson I was already playing the bassline to "Someday" by The Strokes. I really appreciate how he treats every question I ask (I'm sure some of them are very dumb) with care and takes into account what type of music I want to play. I HIGHLY recommend Red Pelican Music and Thomas, I cannot go anywhere else!
