We strive to provide an exemplary musical education by means of a thorough and inspiring music curriculum. Supplementing the student's weekly private lessons are bimonthly musicianship and theory courses, group classes, and ensemble classes. Student's are also given the opportunity to perform each semester, to attend faculty recitals and masterclasses by visiting artists. This develops a community at the California Conservatory of Guitar that is exciting, fun and motivating.
The faculty at the CCG are all committed to the idea that all young students have great potential, which can be developed and nurtured through the Suzuki approach to music education. When given the right environment to excel, the results are tremendous. Because of CCG's caring and experienced faculty; a well-rounded, thought-out curriculum; and a positive, nurturing atmosphere, we present a school that allows our students to reach their full potential.

The Suzuki Method
Report
The Suzuki method began to be develop over 50 years ago by the Japanese violinist, Shinici Suzuki, when he exclaimed to a group of friends, "All Japanese children speak Japanese!" What seems like an obvious observation led him down a path teaching music with a "mother-tongue approach." All children learn to speak their native language with utmost fluency. What a talent! The "mother-tonque approach" teaches music with the same fundamentals as language acquisition: repetition, encouragment, imitation, and constant exposure.
Older Beginners
Report
There are several options for students who are 10 years or older and would like to take guitar lessons. Families have the option to still take Suzuki lessons, but also have the choice of taking traditional classical guitar lessons. If you choose to take traditional lessons, parents do not have to take the parent education course and do not have to attend the private lesson.
Adult Students
Report
We have many adult students who come to us from many different backgrounds with respect to the classical guitar. Some want to learn along side their child to better help them throughout their musical development, other adults were once guitar students themselves, and some have just decided it's time to play an instrument (we are happy that they picked the right one).

Our daughter, Alexandra has been studying Suzuki Method classical guitar for many years. She enjoys coming to lessons, performing at recitals and the annual concert. She also recently started the piano for older kids. The guitar and piano teachers are very passionate and competent teaching the children. Highly recommended!

Both of my girls enjoy their music lessons at CCM. During the pandemic, the teachers were able to transition right away to ZOOM lessons and my girls continued their classes from home. We appreciate all the work the teachers and staff have put in to continue the classes. Music helped our family get through this tough time. We can't wait to go back in-person.

Rachel loves learning with Teacher Tiffany! Teacher Tiffany's enthusiasm, patience, kindness, and amazing talent give Rachel great encouragement to learn. We are also grateful for kindness and professionalism from leadership and staff. It has been working out for us despite the challenges of shelter-in-place. Thank you so much!

Both of my children have taken to music and from the start we've been with The California Conservatory of Music. In the first case, we were looking for a female guitar instructor for my daughter. We got a wonderful instructor and a true teacher-student friendship which continues even now as our daughter's teacher has moved on from teaching but has chosen to stick with our daughter.
Our son picked up piano first with an app and soon thereafter with The California Conservatory of Music. He's had the opportunity to be with multiple teachers, mostly due to folks filling in for absences from time to time. He loves his teacher and would not switch! We're getting a solid music foundation delivered in a way that continues to be fun and engaging. In the end, if the kids enjoy playing and stick with it, that's a win for us. Thank you!

Both my kids have enjoyed taking Guitar lessons with Alexandria this year. Even though, they have very little time to practice, their teacher is very patient and cont to work with them. Also, the two owners and the office staff are so receptive to the kids and their families! We are so appreciate for welcoming our kids.
