Attended at Julliard Prep Division and Manhattan School of Music - graduated with Bachelors of Music: Violin Major/ Piano & Composition minor at the age of 15 Studied under Keng-Yuen Tseng who is an international award winning soloist & music director, who studied under Erick Friedman and Glenn Dicterow, who were students of world famous Jascha Heifetz as the violinist of the century.
Bio / Personal Statement
I'm a Professional Violin and Piano instructor/ composer with 17+ years of teaching experience. Offering lessons in beginning through very advance levels for children ages 4 and up & adults , specializing in technique, imagery and performance skills. All genres of music can be taught, for the violin I specialize in classical solo performance. Music theory, ear training, and many fundamentals are incorporated into each lesson. I also offer lessons in just ear training, music theory, and music composition.
Instruction Levels: Beginner, Intermediate, AdvancedAges Taught: Ages 3-99 I have bi-annual recitals for my students highly recommended not required

Christine's been a fantastic teacher! As an adult learning piano for the first time, she's been a great reference for both learning to play and keeping me accountable on practice, technique, and theory between lessons. I've been studying with her for just over a year, and have passed ~450 songs in that time - its a great feeling to finally enjoy my old keyboard that had been sitting in a corner for years!

Christine has been a fantastic teacher for my son. Over the past year that she has worked with him he has learn to love piano and violin. Christine has been very flexible with accommodating our schedule, and offers virtual lessons for those times that traveling is not reasonable. I highly recommend her to other parents and adults looking for a professional musician that offers an excellent educational experience.

Christine is an awesome teacher! She is very passionate about teaching and makes kid very comfortable during lessons. I have a very shy kid and initially she was very nervous about the lessons. But Christine gained their confidence and identified their strengths and weakness in initial few lessons. During lessons she pays attention on how the kid is playing the music and also on body composure. Christine introduced NYSSMA evaluation to my kids and she trained her meticulously for a perfect score.
My kids have evolved a lot under her guidance and I can see how much they have improved both in playing the instrument and sight reading under her guidance. I would definitely recommend her, she is great!

Christine is an amazing teacher! She's incredibly patient with kids - finding the best approach to each child, getting them motivated and interested in music. She makes learning fun, yet productive with great kids accomplishments! We really like her teaching approach - the way she combines violin and piano and music theory is simple superb!

Excellent teacher! Christine's class is very well structured, and her lessons are very helpful for my daughter to progress well. Above all, Christine encourages my daughter (I don't know how) so that my daughter does not think of playing the piano and the violin as *practicing* but as *playing* as if she likes reading her favorite books and drawing/painting.

Our daughter started lessons with Christine Chin at age 3. In a short time, Christine had her reading music and playing both the violin and the piano. Christine's caring demeanor and structured lessons are perfect for young children. She really knows how to teach young kids and works to make each lesson engaging. Our daughter absolutely loves Christine and looks forward to her weekly lesson!

My daughter has been taking piano and violin lessons from Christine since she was 3 years old in 2017. Christine has been excellent working with my daughter and knows how to utilize her strengths and keep her attention since it's difficult to teach kids and have them progress. Christine has been our Son's violin and piano teacher for five years. It is extremely rare to have one teacher for both instruments, and she is a brilliant teacher. She is very encouraging and attentive, students who work under her will go far. She offers a beautiful studio, two gorgeous recitals a year along with her expertise and attention. We couldn't recommend her more highly, she is truly one of the greatest music teachers ever.

A patient piano teacher, with an ear for every wrong note, but who conveys the correct way to tickle the ivories clearly and respectfully. As an older student (aka, old fogie) who has taken piano lessons from Christine for 5+ years, I witness her outstanding patience with young students, including some 5 or 6, at the semi-annual recitals and wish all teachers shared this fine manner.
