We offer weekly lessons on most instruments and voice. Students can choose 30-minute lessons or 60-minute lessons. Tuition also includes FREE monthly recitals, FREE Saturday group classes, FREE formal recitals, and community festivals.

Welcome to Terre Haute Music School! We are pleased that you are considering music lessons! Research has shown that we are all born with an aptitude for music, and we are here to nurture it!
I just know you will love our program as soon as you give it a try. Our 5200 square-foot building is centrally located in Terre Haute, and spacious enough to provide many high-quality music lessons. Our goal is to help your child reach their potential on their instrument, and develop a life long love of music!
To accomplish our goal, we offer piano lessons for students of all ages and abilities, as well as piano classes for young beginners. Piano students learn to both read music and play by ear. Music theory and musicianship are emphasized with every student to help them reach their full potential. Many performance opportunities exist - monthly musicales, semester recitals, piano festivals, and competitions. In addition, there are spring theory classes that are free to all enrolled piano students.

Dana Williamson
Dana Williamson has been a musician for most of her life, having played string instruments for nearly 30 years. She earned her bachelor's degree in Music Education from Indiana State University in 2005. She began teaching violin and viola privately to students of all ages while still studying at ISU, then taught middle school strings and general music for 9 years in Vigo County.
Dana has performed and done recording session work with several ensembles and bands and is the current Concertmistress of the Terre Haute Sinfonietta Pops Orchestra. Dana also has a strong background in alternative styles and electric strings and has performed several times with the Mark Wood Rock Orchestra.

Tim Bennett
Hello! My name is Tim Bennett and I am very excited to be teaching at Terre Haute Music School. I went to Ball State University, where I was involved in different ensembles and music classes. I have been a Music Director at churches for over 8 years where I taught groups as well as individuals. During this time I worked with not only adults, but teens and children as well. I have been playing guitar and other instruments for over 15 years. I really enjoy helping students learn and grow in their skills and music understanding.

My daughter took piano lessons from Lynette Browne for about 7 years and we were extremely impressed with her teaching. She is great with kids and has a passion to see kids succeed. Although my daughter decided to let piano lessons go, We will forever be grateful for the experience and friendship we grew with this instructor!!!

I have three children enrolled at the Terre Haute Music School. Dr. Browne was highly recommended by a colleague. I'm so pleased I made the change to this music school. Dr. Brown keeps my children learning at the right pace for them, but always pushing for a little more. I've seen progress in overall performance, technique, speed, concentration, and accuracy. Dr. Browne is an excellent music teacher. She uses her experience in the best possible way to personalize her teaching to the needs of each student - even special needs students. She is very friendly to her students and their families. She works to accommodate busy family schedules. We highly recommend Dr. Browne's piano instruction, as well as her musical studio.

As a senior citizen, I am fairly set I'm my ways but if they can teach me piano then they can teach anyone. I highly recommend the school for both the young and the young at heart. Music helps all age levels mentally and goes hand in hand with math skills. I know because I'm a mathematician by trade. 5 stars in my book!

My years with Dr. Browne were some of the most formative years in my musical development. Through piano lessons and music theory classes, I learned how to be a confident, competent, and caring musician. She gave all of her students incredibly enriching musical opportunities such as musicales, involvement with the annual Achievement in Music competition, and recitals that made all of us feel like professional musicians.
After 10+ years with Dr. Browne, I began the amazing journey of becoming a music educator. I often think of how Dr. Browne was my first music educator and how she inspired me to love music in all of its forms. Going into my future, I hope I can be as influential of a music educator as Dr. Browne was for me.
