Dr. Joseph Line (Dr. Joe) is a master pianoteacher and performer with over 30 years of experience teaching children and adults of all levels and ages. He is the author of the soon to be released book: "Practicing Smart at the Piano: How to Learn and Memorize Any Piece of Music Quickly" Before piano study can commence, an interview must be held between the prospective student and me. If the student is a child, then at least one parent or guardian must be present.The purpose of the interview is to determine suitability for piano study, ability level, learning abilities, and appropriate lesson lengths and time. If the student has had prior piano study, I will want to hear 2 or 3 of the most advanced pieces studied that can be played successfully from beginning to end. Students with prior study should also bring with them in any method books and assignment books that have been used.

Joseph Line
A teacher of piano with more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Joseph Line is also a celebrated piano accompanist, organist, conductor and church musician. He holds a bachelor’s degree in organ and piano and a master’s degree in conducting from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music in Ohio. His doctoral degree in conducting is from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
