I am the founder of the Bay Area Piano Teachers of Simply Music, a teacher organization which promotes mutual support and education. My professional background includes two decades as an educator, businesswoman, and entrepreneur. I have a BA in Psychology from the University of California at Davis, along with a Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential, and have completed graduate coursework at the University of Denver Publishing Institute.

I have always wanted to learn to play the piano, and now in my 50's, with the Simply Music method, and Annette Schmidt's patient, encouraging, and supportive teaching style, my dream has come true. After nine months of lessons, I can play more than 30 pieces using both hands on each piece! My friends and family are quite impressed! I actually 'treat' myself to a practice session when I need a break from work!
