Thunder Road Music Studios If you want to take guitar, voice, bass guitar, drum, or keyboard lessons, or even form a band, we can help! We teach you what you need to know to succeed in music. Thunder Road Music Studios was founded on the revolutionary idea that the best way to teach students how to play and appreciate music is to immerse them in a unique learning environment that encourages them to learn from and perform with other musicians.

Trying to capture a bit of the energy and excitement of playing in a Garage Band like we did as kids every detail from the front door to the bathroom was designed to immerse our students in the history and culture of music.

My 11 year old son, who is a beginner and can be very shy, played with some of the other kids and plugged away. He learned and practiced his teacher felt he could handle at this point, found out what it’s like to stand up in front of a large group and be watched, saw his friends and more advanced fellow students take a shot at performing solo and heard whistles and applause for his group. My wife and I had a lovely night and when she asked me what I thought I said, “How can anyone NOT like this?” Thanks for the great job Thunder Road

The stylish and hip layout of the studio encourages the kids to feel like true rock stars. The Sunday Jam Sessions with fellow students give them the opportunity to experience what it would be like to have their own garage band. The kids get to jam with each other in a fantastically fun environment. Why would anyone choose to take lessons in a glass booth at a music store when they could have so much more. Thunder Road Rocks

Thunder Road Music Studios is a great place to take lessons for guitar and drums. They offer other instrument and voice lessons as well, but our family has first-hand experience with drums, bass, and guitar. The camp program in the summer is a great opportunity for young musicians to learn timing, playing with a mix of instruments, and supporting singers as well.

They've been flexible with juggling our schedules too! They teach kids and adults alike. We highly recommend in giving them a try if you are looking to learn an instrument. or just want to improve upon what you already know.

We've done lessons, the jam sessions and now the summer camp. Our boys love Thunder Road, and I could not be happier with our experience there. The staff is amazing, the kids have a great time and watching them have the rock band experience is such great fun. It's a well run organization and I really feel they are there to make sure everybody learns a little and has a great time. Chalk us up for two very happy parents and two very happy boys.

I had 3 lessons with Matt so far and I am very excited about the progress I am already experiencing. The location is nice and they have free parking for the students. There are several rooms with cool names at school. They do lessons with kids as well as adults.

Beautiful studio, offer variety of music lessons. My 6 years old son took piano lessons with Mike and loved it! We had to take a break from logistic reasons but we will come back soon as we possibly can.

We first learned about Thunder Road through their summer camp program. My son loved it and sparked an interest in singing and playing guitar. He is 12 and has also been taking both singing and guitar from Matt. He's truly enjoying both and I'm seeing his growth every week. I tried playing guitar until I was about 17 and wasn't very successful. I tried again when I was 40 at another place and again wasn't able to get into it.

So when my son started at here I thought I'd try again. First off it has the coolest vibe when you are there. Then my instructor, Kevin, has been amazing. We started by first learning songs I was interested. Then we went back and broke the songs down and learned the theory behind the song. I have a deeper understanding than I've ever had before and have learned how to solo. I highly recommend Thunder Road!

Sally and the instructors here are top notch. The facility is adorable and full of instruments, and always buzzing with students. There are jam sessions monthly, and they even put on concerts periodically! This past Sunday there was a rock concert at the Strand Theater in Marietta, and it was amazing. I highly recommend Thunder Road for music lessons.

Thunder Road Studios has a fantastic program. I hesitate to describe it as just 'lessons', because it is much more than that. Their goal is to help the student play the songs they love. as quickly as possible. Even beginners can play simple parts of complicated songs. Music theory is introduced in small doses, when it really matters to the song being played.

This makes music theory interesting and valuable. It's not just another checklist to memorize. And most important, they hold a monthly open jam session to students with similar skills. Playing in a group setting is great fun, builds confidence, and has more value than hours of practice time. That's a great concept. My son knew some basic chords before his first lesson.

He learned three really valuable skills in in one session: 1) How to play bar chords, 2) How to use power chords to play music he doesn't know, and 3) a simple way to play notes that always fit in any song (minor pentatonic pattern) He didn't leave with those skills mastered, but that's the point. He left with three important, practical things to practice. I've been playing music for a VERY long time, and seen a lot of teaching methods.

This place rocks. Go there. (I have never met the owners in person. This review isn't a favor for the owners, it's a favor for you guys.) I'll update if my initial impressions have changed after the next few lessons. I suspect they won't :)

I am really impressed with the recent concert that Thunder Road put on with all their student musicians. The kids loved it, and the event was a huge success. This is one of the coolest parts of the whole thing.
