Rachel Assi
Originally from New Jersey, Rachel earned her Bachelor’s of Music at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, where she studied voice with Frederick Urrey. A mezzo-soprano, Rachel has most recently sung the roles of Indiana Elliott and Anna Hope in Virgil Thomson’s The Mother of Us All, and has also appeared as Mrs. Jones in Weill’s Street Scene under the direction of Dona Vaughn.
Jennifer Best
Originally from North Carolina, violinist Jennifer Best is currently the assistant concertmaster of the Sarasota Orchestra, as well as violinist of the resident Sarasota Piano Quartet. Prior to joining the Sarasota Orchestra in 2005, Jennifer served as a rotating co-concertmaster of the New World Symphony, under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas.
Abe Feder
In 2008, Abraham Feder took his position as Principal Cellist of the Sarasota Orchestra and cellist of the Sarasota String Quartet.He attended The Curtis Institute of Music and studied with David Soyer and Peter Wiley. He served as Principal Cellist of the Curtis Symphony Orchestra, the Curtis Chamber Orchestra and the Curtis Opera Orchestra.
Dan Jordan
He has played as concertmaster of the New World Symphony (Miami Beach), Spoleto (Charleston) Festival and Erie Philharmonic. He has also served in the sections of the St. Louis Symphony, Naples Philharmonic and Florida Orchestra. Previous to his tenure in Santa Fe, summers have been spent as a member of the Sun Valley (Idaho) Summer Symphony, Assistant Concertmaster of the Colorado Music Festival, Concertmaster of the National Repertory Orchestra and as an Assisting Artist at the Sarasota Music Festival.
