Music Lessons Will Travel Our teaching method is based on basic music fundamentals applied to the students specific musical genre of interest. All of our teachers have either college degrees in music, or have played and taught music professionally for ten years or more. Like all music schools, our goal is to provide basic music fundamentals such as technique, chords, scales, arpeggios, reading, music theory, improvisational concepts, and ear training.

We spend the first half of the lesson teaching these basic fundamentals, and then we apply them to songs or styles of music that the student is wishing to learn. This approach helps the student retain the fundamentals taught, while still having fun, and learning his or her favorite song. If the student is not having fun, then he or she is not learning. If youre not learning, then we are not doing our job!

Music Lessons Will Travel (formally known as Music Lessons On Wheels) was founded by guitarist, singer-songwriter, producer, and recording engineer, Andrew Hooker. Andrew began studying and playing piano at age 7, guitar at age 10, clarinet at age 12, and drums at age 15. He began writing songs at age 12 and for years played guitar only by ear. His high school southern rock band, Grounded Pilots, recorded their second album at Fame Studios, Muscle Shoals, Alabama (studio where “Mustang Sally” was recorded).

Andrew Hooker is a very talented player and teacher. He really listens to his students, to see what their interests are in playing and learning. I’ve had other instructors that just try to ‘process’ the next student, without seeing where they are and where they want to go. I highly recommend Andrew’s services, you can’t go wrong

Andrew Hooker works great with my kids, teaching them guitar and drums. I am excited to have musical lessons for my kids by an instructor who has the level of skills and accomplishments Andrew has. He truly has a passion for the music and the lessons he brings his students. The time he saves me by coming to my home is priceless

Andrew is awesome! He has taught my sons both guitar and drums. We have had lessons with Andrew in our home weekly for several years. He goes above and beyond in preparing my children for their music needs. He recently came over an extra day after hours to give my eldest son an extra lesson to prepare him for a try out. Our family enjoys Andrew's visits and my sons love him as a teacher.

He's super cool to them. Andrew's business skills are awesome for a music man. He is always on time, never misses a lesson, and is polite, kind, and professional. Words really can't describe how wonderful he is. We love you, Andrew!

Andrew Hooker has been my guitar teacher for over 4 years and I can't say enough good things about his expertise and patience. I am an older beginner (senior) which requires more patience, time, and understanding than normally takes from a teacher that teaches a child. He makes me realize that I can do the things required to play. My experience with learning from him has enabled me to play Rock, Blues, Americana, Country, Bluegrass, R&B, and Christian songs.

And though it remains a personal challenge for me to improve, he always encourages me to build confidence by teaching me ways to play better. And it works! More important is his talent. Because of his understanding of many instruments he can easily explain something in terms of his musical experience with other instruments. He lives music and I know that his writing, producing, playing and also teaching music makes him a very rare talent!

Andrew has taught my daughter Ryan guitar for about the past year. He is incredible with her and she has grown immensely as a guitar player since she started taking lessons with him. More than anything, I like the way he teaches. While she's working on fundamentals at all times, she also gets to learn a song of her choosing pretty regularly. This gives her the foundation in chops while also allowing her to have lots of fun learning. I highly recommend Andrew as a teacher. I've observed he's very patient and is also one helluva guy.

The "Cave Studios" is one of the best places to be if you're looking for recording sessions in Nashville. Top notch equipment and a laid back environment. Had a great time laying down tracks for my debut album.

As someone who's been working in Nashville as a producer for more than 20 years, I've done a lot of sessions in a lot of different studios, and I can wholeheartedly recommend The Cave. Excellent equipment, great atmosphere. Owner/engineer Andrew Hooker not only has the technical side of his craft down (both recording and mixing), but as a musician himself, he always has a good feel for the musical side of the project.

In addition, he's very easy to work with. I've always been 100% satisfied with my sessions at The Cave, and continue to work at the studio. Steve Haggard/Wild Oats Records (Nashville)
