Our staff of instructors consists of professional musicians and music school graduates from such schools as Berklee College of Music, New England Conservatory, Boston Conservatory, Boston University, and Arizona State University.All have extensive training on their instruments and years of teaching experience. Instructors are hired for their flexibility in dealing with students at different age and ability levels. Our teachers strive to help students play as musically as possible, as soon as possible, while focusing on the fundamentals of music. In lessons, our teachers focus on educating and challenging the students in their preferred styles.

Honored as the most outstanding graduate in both fields. Classically trained soprano, accomplished pianist, commissioned composer, gifted worship leader, inspiring teacher. Has taught voice and piano lessons ‘since 1999.

Piano, Voice
M. M. from Westminster Choir College of Rider University. Bachelor of Music Degree from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. At Westminster, Laura placed first in the Voice Scholarship Competition, and performed as a soloist in the British and French Art Song Festivals. She was also the recipient of the Covenant Presbyterian Church Scholarship.
Greg Silva

Greg has been performing professionally since the age of 15. His first year in Roomful of Blues, they were voted best live Blues Act by Downbeat Magazine. Greg was voted Outstanding Bass Player 2007 by The Blues Audience. Some of the artists Greg has performed with are Eric Burdon, Roomful of Blues, The Memphis Horns, Ronnie Earl, Duke Robillard, James Montgomery and James Cotton.

I've been teaching at MJ's Music for well over a decade and I can't say enough about Molly Jo, Chris and their dedication to their students, teachers and the Waltham Community. It has been a rewarding experience as an educator to both connect with students during private lessons and also be able to watch our ensembles and programs such as our rock ensembles and drum camp be involved in various events and performances in the Waltham community.
As a professional musician, I think the biggest testament I can give is that both of my own children have had great relationships and experiences with their teachers through the school who have continued to encourage their passions for music throughout the years.

My 10 yr old son has been taking guitar lessons from Chris Bryant and he is a fantastic teacher! Chris is extremely professional, accommodating, talented, and encouraging. My son looks forward to his lessons and he continues to grow musically. We highly recommend MJ's Music School as it has been a very pleasurable experience working with Chris and the entire staff!

I have been taking piano at MJs now for a few years. The level of instruction is consistently excellent. As an adult student, the instructors listen to what I want from my lessons, what type of music I am interested in, and let me move at my own pace. The instructors like that I challenge them also with questions about the music, how to play, and the theory behind it.
The instructors that I have had come from a professional music background and it shows in the quality of my lessons. MJ and Cassie do an excellent job with billing and scheduling, including recitals twice a year. They smoothly made the transition to remote learning, which I have thoroughly enjoyed! So nice to have distraction right now. Highly recommended!

This is a wonderful place to take music lessons. I started back in 2010 with piano lessons from Cassie. She is an excellent teacher, who is very personable, has a wonderful voice and was extremely patient with me (since I was a first time music student who knew nothing!). I also have taken lessons from Jodi and MJ. They are also awesome teachers who have a great love and passion for the piano and singing.
I am an adult student and this was my first experience trying out the piano. To this day I still love playing the piano and taking lessons. I cannot thank MJs enough for providing such wonderful teachers who helped me develop my love for music.
