Joanna Launderville
Ms. Joanna Launderville started her musical journey in elementary school. After finding the piano and recorder too difficult, she soon fell in love with the violin, and later, the viola. As a high school student, Ms. Launderville studied at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts and began teaching privately in her home studio, which she opened with the help of her high school's orchestra director.

As an adult student, I have been taking lessons with Joanna for a few years now and really enjoy it! Not only is she a patient and encouraging instructor, but she also caters lessons to my musical whims. I've been able to explore a variety of styles and techniques with her and through it have learned about music structure and a bit of theory too. Overall, taking lessons from Joanna is a great experience and I highly recommend her!

Joanna is an enthusiastic, creative, and flexible teacher who puts a lot of heart into her teaching and has a great rapport with kids. She treats her students as unique individuals, and will work with you and your child to find the best approach. She is also a top-notch violinist and orchestral musician, and this expertise infuses her teaching at all levels. My daughter was feeling discouraged after a bad experience with a different teacher and coming to Joanna for lessons helped her get her groove back.
