Slater Music Academy At Slater Music Academy, all we do is music instruction. We do not sell instruments or sheet music, so all of our energy and time is devoted to bringing our customers the highest quality of music instruction available in the Tri-State area. Each instructor is highly trained and experienced.

Many have advanced degrees, and all have proven records of excellence in working and interacting with students. Academy students are given ample opportunities to perform and share their music through recitals, master classes, festivals, service projects and family sharing sessions.

Lessons are individually tailored to match the skill and dedication of each student. We offer flexible schedules to suit busy schedules and a variety of payment plans for every budget. Significant discounts are available for students who can take lessons prior to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Rebecca Slater
REBECCA SLATER, piano/ voice and Academy director, is an active teacher, singer, collaborative pianist, choral director, organist and liturgical musician. She graduated magna cum laude from Ball State University in choral and general music education with concentrations in both piano and vocal performance.
Rae Jean Auterson
RAE JEAN AUTERSON, piano and voice, has spent over 30 years in the music industry in the areas of performing, musical theatre, music education and private teaching. Rae Jean is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, where she received the Best Vocalist award in 2004.
Mark Haap
Mark Haap, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, mandolin and dulcimer, has studied music from the age of eight. He has studied at the Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, California, The National Guitar Summer Workshop in Connecticut and with many teachers from a wide variety of musical styles.
Miao Li
Miao Li, Suzuki and traditional method violin and viola, began her violin studies at the age of seven in Nanjing, China and was the winner of numerous regional and provincial competitions in China. Ms. Li received her BM from the State University of New York at Purchase and MM from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati.
