We are providing a great place to learn to play and a very strong musical voice in East Contra Costa County. We serve our central Delta communities of Antioch, Oakley, Discovery Bay and Brentwood, CA by listening and offering first class musical services including school band instrument rentals, private music lessons and small group instruction.
Established in May 1979 by local musician Jeff Gill, the focus of the business has always been about providing musical support for beginning music students as well as experienced musicians. The music store offers a wide selection of reasonably priced musical instruments for sale and also offers band instrument repair services, guitar set-ups and neck adjustments. In addition, we offer private music instruction including guitar, piano, drum, voice lessons, etc. - all given by qualified teachers who are patient and encouraging. The store also has been chosen by the City of Antioch to provide group classes for the Antioch community through the Leisure Service Department.

Emily Krentz
Voice Teacher
Hi there! My name is Emily Krentz and I have a passion for teaching. Like one of my mentor's, Sue Stuart from Liberty high School, I love sharing the joy of music and singing with younger students in particular. I personally began taking private voice lessons at the age of eight years old in 2001, and continue taking private coaching to this day with a renown college music professor.

The staff there are very friendly and help me and my wife out on what type of guitar our 9 year girl should be playing. They fixed her guitar for her because she wanted to play left handed instead of right, so the changed the strings and a few more things to it and she loves it. She is taking lessons there and the staff is so easy to talk to it like you are family.

My parents are currently taking lessons at Gill's Music and they're both enjoying not only playing again (Dad plays guitar and Mom plays piano) but developing friendships with their instructors. They have nothing but good remarks to say about their music lessons. For me, I just went into Gill's today to rent a trumpet, and I was in and out in all of 15 minutes.
After doing a bit of price-researching and looking for the best rental deals down in the South Bay (where I reside), I discovered that Gill's rental offering was significantly better than most music stores. The rental agreement is also on a month-to-month basis, as opposed to other stores which ask you to commit to a 10-month rental.
