I have been teaching voice for over twenty years. I have a valid teaching credential issued by the State of California authorizing me to teach music in the public schools. I have studied music privately and at UC Irvine, CSU Long Beach, Duquesne University, Dalcroze School, Palomar College, Chapman University, and Mills College.I have performed as a session singer in several Hollywood recording studios, and for special event performances locally and in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, New York, St. Paul MN, Germany and France.

The predominant method I use comes from the Italian Bel Canto (which means beautiful singing) experience which has been developed over hundreds of years of study and teaching. Students are given appropriate vocal exercises for their age and range. They choose songs in their interest area and learn to perform them using appropriate technique. Many students opt to learn how to sight sing music as part of their lessons.

The person who wrote the negative review about Mimi's music studio is beyond incorrect with her review so I have to give you all the truth! She is a very attentive, patient, and compassionate teacher and it shows that she loves working with children. My 8 year old takes vocal lessons with Mimi and when I hear her teaching my daughter I love how Mimi gives her full attention and dedication to making sure my daughter is getting the most out of the lesson to ensure she is really understanding what Mimi is showing her.
