I have been taking virtual classical guitar lessons with Sean for about 6 months now. Even though I started learning classical guitar on my own before taking lessons, Sean has helped me develop the proper technique and structure needed to go to the next level.
Sean's experience with the Suzuki teaching method is evident in each lesson. He has a unique gift for explaining the complex musical dynamics of classical guitar. I would recommend Sean as a teacher for any child or adult looking to level up their classical guitar skills.

He is THE best suzuki guitar teacher in town! Before I engaged my son in guitar classes, I met several teachers (suzuki and non-suzuki) and no one came to as close to his capabilities. He is very reliable, talented and patient with the kids, and his style is unique. My son has been learning guitar with him since he was 4 yrs old (yes). This is not only learning experience for the kids but also for the parents. I can write tons of stuff but if you are interested to expose your kids to musical instrument, then contact him and set up 1x1.

While he has an active Suzuki practice he also teaches adult students in a more traditional way. I approached Sean as a mostly self taught amateur adult guitarist about two years ago with the desire to improve my classical musicianship and began a course of study that's lasted to the present day. Over the years I'd reinforced a lot of bad habits in my playing while studying on my own and Sean has been able to help me identify areas to focus on. My playing has improved dramatically during this time and Sean's patience, encouragement, flexibility, and insight have been the key.

Behrens Guitar Studio is run by Sean Behrens, a local musician who specializes in teaching classical guitar to children using the Suzuki method. My older son (now almost 6) started taking lessons from Sean about two years ago, and my younger son (almost 4) just started lessons a few months ago.
Sean is a wonderful teacher, and he has a really special knack for teaching very young children
