We have been offering the finest in music instruction and performance since 1985. The studio specializes in private lessons tailored to the interests and abilities of each student. Our studio is located in North Central Austin. We also provide live music for weddings and other events. Let us use our expertise to help you choose the perfect music and instrumentation. Options include solo piano or guitar as well as duos, trios and quartets.

Studio directors Mike Harris and Wendy Murphy-Harris each hold the degree Master of Music. Both have many years experience teaching and performing in a variety of styles. There are twelve notes in a musical scale and they know them all.

Piano Lessons

All ages and levels are welcome. Lessons are private and customized to fit each student's goals and abilities. I have a great enthusiasm for many different styles of music. My college degrees are in Classical piano. I also have experience performing and teaching blues and other pop styles. In addition to the basics (such as learning to read notes and rhythms) lessons may incorporate music theory, reading chord charts, and improvisation.

Strings Lessons

All lessons are private and customized to fit each student's needs and abilities. The emphasis is on playing material in which the student is most interested, along with technical studies and theory as deemed appropriate. Lessons are contracted on a month-to-month basis. There is no enrollment fee and no long term commitment is required. For the most part, tuition remains the same every month. The student is guaranteed an average of 4 lessons per month. Consideration will be given for summer vacation, winter school break, spring break and medical emergencies.

Wendy Murphy-Harris

Classical: Solo piano recitals, master classes, weddings, receptions, private parties from 1979 to present time
Blues, folk, various pop styles: Piano, acoustic guitar and vocals in various bands and duos from 1979 to 1993.
Accompanying: Student recitals, University theater.

1964-70: Various rock/country bands in Southeast Texas
1973-74: Rock band, "Me," Austin (Remember the One Knite!)
1978-83: Assorted bands, various styles, Denton, Texas
1988-90: "The Grandmothers, featuring Jimmy Carl Black," rock and other styles, Austin
1983-present: Wedding ceremonies/receptions in churches and other venues throughout Central Texas
